It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maurice Franklin Sr. of Independence, Kansas, who passed away on April 23, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by : his former life partner Mary L. Griffin; his sons, Thomas D. Franklin and James Griffin; his wife Brenda E. (Smith); his children, Maurice Franklin, Jr. of Jonesville, Virginia and Christin M. Franklin of Kansas City, Missouri.; his siblings, Rose, James M. Franklin, Margaret L. Conger (James) of Independence and B. Jeanette Headley of Kansas City; his granddaughters, Chareesa D. Franklin and Chaundra A. Franklin; his great grandchildren, Addison Tyson and Ava Marie; and his brother-in-law Willard L. Smith, Jr. (Cynthia) of Centennial. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
