We are sad to announce that on May 31, 2024, at the age of 80, Preston L. Edwards of Independence, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Preston may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Preston L. Edwards Sr. and Mary Marie Dabbs (Turner); and his brothers, William Edwards Sr. and Roger Bailey. He is survived by : his significant other Pamela Thames; his goddaughters, Diamond and Charell Strickland; and his aunt Dorothy Winfield. He is also survived by Seven Nieces and Nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

Charell Strickland wrote a sympathy message

“How do u cram over 30yrs in 500 letters it’s impossible. I will always be thankful for you coming into my life from dads and doughnuts to you coming to my games from all the holidays and the days where would ride. My dad was a strong man but as sweet as the cornbread he would bake. He was the most fearless person I ever met but with the care of the world. I will always cherish every memory until we meet again I love you forever your daughter 🥰”
