Evelyn left this world on May 21, 2025 at the age of 96, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Joseph Hoffman and Talitha Jane "Jennie" Hoffman (Clark); her husband Calvin Lay; and her siblings, James Lemons, Arthur Lemons, Henry Hoffman, Lloyd Hoffman and Catherine Hoffman.

She is survived by: her daughter Susan Martin (Harold); her grandchildren, Tammie, Rodger and Rodney; her daughter Kathy Chard (Gordon); her grandchildren, Brian, Jessica and Randy Lay (Joyce); her great grandchildren, Melissa and Rebekah; her granddaughter Vicki Williams (Marion); and her great grandchildren, Heather, Shannon and Clay. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church, and may be left in the care of the funeral home.
