He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Gary, Beverly Hawk, Wayne and Vivian Smail. He is survived by: his parents, Ronald D. Smail and Deborah A. Smail (Hawk); his son Alexander James Smail; his stepson Xavier Kraus; and his siblings, Michael Smail (Em), Matthew Smail (Malin), Scott Smail, Stacie Smail (Jason Chandlee) and Dacia Underwood. He is also survived by four nieces, and four nephews.
