Leona Marie Smedley Obituary

Leona Marie Smedley, born on February 14, 1940 in Neodesha, Kansas, passed away on September 19, 2026. Leona leaves behind family members and others who acknowledge this loss. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Sonny; her daughter Pamela Smedley; and her granddaughter Cristy Wiles. She is survived by: her children, Debra Mahaffey (Dan), Sandra Smedley and David Smedley (Tonya); and her grandchildren, Ashley Mahaffey, Matt Mahaffey, Brianne O'Brien (Smedley) and Trey Smedley. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Thayer Christian Church (8495 Dorn Rd, Thayer, KS 66776). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

Memorial contributions can be made in Leona's name to the Thayer Christian Church.
