He was predeceased by: his parent Ruth Thurman; his siblings, Merrill "Fat" Thurman, Chester "Chet" Thurman, Donald "Dale" Thurman, Dorothy Irion, Betty Brown, Alvin Thurman, Edna Donlen, Bonnie Stanturf, Kenneth "Kenny" Thurman, Margaret "Mickey" Thurman and Vera Wyrick; his sons-in-law, Mark Waterworth, Ira Wenger and William Ghale; and his great great grandchild Amaya.

He is survived by: his sister Shirley Kilburn; his wife Nancy Thurman; his children, Bonnie Mozingo (John), Debbie Waterworth, Connie Wenger, Brenda Ghale, Darrell "Billy" Thurman (Kim) and Tammy Savner (Steve); and his grandchildren, Shawn Mozingo (Carrie), Kathy Foss, Pamela Riemenschneider (Brian), Wendy Perez, Curtis Waterworth, Caitlin Whittlesey (Jimmy) and Rachel Schmitt (TJ). He is also survived by 6 children, 5 daughters and one son, 15 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home (701 N 94th St, Kansas City, KS 66112).
