She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thompson and Marjorie Thompson (Shore). She is survived by: her husband James; her daughter Christi Brown; her grandchildren, Rylie and Reid; her son Christopher; her grandchild Lylah; her son Donald Wards, Jr.; her grandchildren, Rylan, Allie and Lylian; her stepdaughter Jamie Mullins (Derek); her children, Ashleigh, Paige and Quinton; and her siblings, Penny Thompson and James Thompson (Kathy). She is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the 83rd Street Shelter House.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to HopeKidsKC, an organization that supports families with children who are battling illness—a cause close to Martha's heart and one she regularly attended with her granddaughter. Please click here to donate.
