She was predeceased by: her parents, J. C. Pilgrim and Dean Pilgrim; her siblings, Gary Michael Pilgrim and Sandy Kay Pilgrim-Smith; her parents-in-law, Nellie Carter-Bailey and Howard "Bunny" Carter; and her sisters-in-law, Norma Carter-Brown and Linda Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Cristy Carter-Verbenec and Jason Carter (Miranda); her grandchildren, Caitlyn (Tim), Kyle, Cole Alterman and Trace Antonopoulos; her great grandchildren, Skylar, Addelyn and Lorali Valentine; and her brother Johnny Pilgrim.
