Elmer James Hogan Obituary
We announce the death of Elmer James Hogan in Kinsley, Kansas, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 96. Elmer will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Jeremiah and Anna Roselia Hogan (Stumps); his siblings, Luella, Lucille, Rita Ann, Geraldine, Leonard, Edward and Donald; and his siblings-in-law, Dorene Weckerling, Floyd Bruntzel, Gordon Weckerling and Dale Wittig.
He is survived by: his wife Leta Faye Wittig; his children, Nancy Lempka (Gary) of Dodge City, KS, Janet Hogan of Claremore, OK, Bev Gross (Lee) of Hays, KS and Greg Hogan of Garfield, KS; and his grandchildren, Kale Lempka (Gloria) of Dodge City, KS, Chad Lempka (Lisa) of Lakin, KS, Grant Lempka (Michelle) of Temple, TX, Brant Dipman (Lana) of Claremore, OK and Tamara Binder (James). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beckwith Mortuary, Inc. (924 Main St, Larned, KS 67550). A rosary was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Beckwith Mortuary (924 Main St, Larned, KS 67550). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1111 State St, Larned, KS 67550).
