Carl Wayne Hughes Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 8, 2025, at the age of 96, Carl Wayne Hughes in Labette, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Alice (McNutt); his parents, Sam Hughes and Lula Hughes (McCormick); and his siblings, Gene, Homer, Sammy, David, Charles and Patsy Ann.
He is survived by: his children, Bill Hughes (Linda) of Thayer, KS, Barbara Wright (Charles) of Thayer, KS, Virginia Blackburn (Charles) of Thayer, KS and Nancy Thornton (Karl) of Thayer, KS; his pet Lady; and also Leona Smedley. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and fourteen great, great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thayer Christian Church (8495 Dorn Rd, Thayer, KS 66776). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the ladies kitchen ministry at the church checks may be made payable to Thayer Christian Church with "Kitchen" in the memo line.
