Melita Gail Schmidt Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melita Gail Schmidt of Larned, Kansas, who passed away on January 11, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Melita may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Crissman and Melba Crissman. She is survived by: her husband Friendsview; her sons, David Wayne Schmidt of Beaverton and Darin Harold Schmidt of Stayton; her sister Lynda McAllister (Rodney Crissman) of St John; and her grandchildren, Sarah Helen Schmidt, Sean David Schmidt and Hannah Christine Grace Schmidt.
