James left this world on June 16, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He is survived by: his wife Carol Jenkins; his daughter Jessica Brom (Michael); his grandsons, Cody, Forrest, Matthew, Dominic and Noah; his son Jeremy Jenkins (Kumiko); his grandchildren, Manon, Jude and Jase; his daughter Janell Taueva (Favor); his grandchildren, Lawren, Landis, Lemuel, Liam and Latimer; his son Justin Jenkins (Marissa); and his grandchildren, Reece, Oliver, Grant and Pippa.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Velocity Church (4000 W 6th St, Lawrence, KS 66049). In 2021, a reaction to a COVID vaccination hospitalized Bill just days before a planned departure for Africa, ending his active mission work.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be directed to Velocity Church for the Bill Jenkins Memorial Fund for Missions, which will support Bible Schools in Kenya, a prayer center in Tokyo, and ongoing mission projects around the world.
