He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Burgen and Hazel Burgen; his wife JoAnn Burgen; his children, JoDena Cron and Eric Burgen; his grandsons, Zachary Countess and Cody Burgen; and his brothers, Kenneth and Leon Burgen.
He is survived by: his children, Ron Burgen (Linda), Don Burgen (Wendy), Kirk Burgen and Michelle Countess (Keith). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home (601 Indiana St, Lawrence, KS 66044). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
