He was predeceased by: his parents, William Walburn and Pearl Walburn (Picking); and his siblings, LeRoy and Louise. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Geiger; his children, Jay Walburn (Linda) of Oskaloosa, John Walburn (Marci) of Phoenix, Arizona and Jeff Walburn of Lawrence; his grandchildren, Jesse (Jordan), Dalton, Taylor, Grayson, Maleah, Jahna (Russ) and Nora; and his stepgrandchildren, James, Ricky and Jessica. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM at 249 Maple St, Lawrence, KS 66044.
