He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bernice Norwood and Evalue Norwood (Chatman); his former wife Betty Ann White; his children, Fayetta, Sherri Lynn, Seth and Cory; his wife Patricia; his grandchildren, Alexius, Akeshia, Ashlyn and Janae; and his brother Gerald. He was also cherished by nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.

The family suggests donations to the Norwood Childrens Educational Fund as a memorial to Lafayette's love of family and education.
