He was predeceased by: his parents, Harrison Burke and Margie Burke (Curtis); and his brother Richard Burke. He is survived by: his wife Sonja Christine Hampton; his children, Kelly Davis (Brad) of Overland Park, Kisa Nichols Miller (Robert) of Baldwin City and Beau (Jennifer) of Castle Rock; his grandchildren, Anna (Kane), Ryan (Maggie), Quinn, Andrew, Allison, Megan, Kate and Jameson; his great grandchild Frank; and his sisters, Linda Burke Goff (Greg), Georgia Burke, Barbara Kelley, Buzz (Suzie Hampton) and Debbie (Steve Finley).

The family suggests memorials to the Dodge City Public Library or to the Dodge City Community College Foundation.
