She is survived by: her husband Steve Gutierrez; her children, Jessica Hoover, Mateo Gutierrez and Elena Gutierrez (Cody); her grandchildren, Makenzie, Cole, Olivia, Brooklyn, Elizabeth, August and Remy; her siblings, Mary Lou and David Jilka (Patti); and her sister-in-law Judy Jilka. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church (6001 Bob Billings Pkwy, Lawrence, KS 66049). A Mass was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Monica's name to LMH Mother Baby Unit and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th St. Lawrence, KS 66044.
