We are sad to announce that, on May 25, 2021, at the age of 84, Monte Carlyle Johnson in Lawrence, Kansas, born in Peoria, Illinois passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Monte Carlyle Johnson to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Johnson (Bay) and Archie Johnson; his parents-in-law, Jack and Jerry Rathbone; and his brothers, Jon and Archie.

He is survived by: his spouse Kay Rathbone Johnson; his children, Jackie and Jeff; his son-in-law Bryan; his children, Jordan Lisher (Carl), Hilary Ferguson (Kyle Postlethwaite), Jackson Ferguson, Nicole Roff (Garrette), Emilie, Zach Johnson, Pierce, Mason, Madeline Lisher, Eley, Price and Carlyle; and his brother Kris Johnson (Marcia). He is also survived by the grandkids at Dairy Queen, driving the grandkids.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to KU Endowment for the benefit of KU.
