He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Henry and Josephine Gertrude Hund (Didde); and his brother Donnie Hund. He is survived by : his children, Bernard Patrick Hund (Monica) of Oklahoma City, Okla, Susan M. Kochman (Jay) of Lee's Summit and Matthew J. Hund (Lisa) of Mclean; his siblings, Mary Jo Nelson (Judy Sloan), Bonnie Pitts of Basehor, Kan., Ken Hund of Shawnee and Carl Hund Jr. of Easton, Kan.; and his grandchildren, Megan, Ethan, Katy Hund (B. Patrick), Anna, Alex, Maddie, Jacob Kochman (Susan), Kyle, Lauren and Luke Hund (Matthew).

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Church (1401 2nd Ave, Leavenworth, KS 66048). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, the Disabled American Veterans "D.A.V", or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
