He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cartwright and Virginia Cartwright (Heinie); and his brother-in-law Paul Calgher. He is survived by: his children, Kimberley Hess (Michael) of Pittsboro, N. C. and Mark Cartwright (Mary) of Charleston, S. C.; his sister-in-law Sandra Calgher; his sibling's children, Christopher, Courtney and Katrina; and his close friend Frank Wilson.
