We announce the death of Don Thornton Bearley of Leavenworth, Kansas, who passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 88. Don will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thornton Bearley and Oleta Revea Bearley; and his sisters, Norma Jon Chapman and Mary Jo Moyer. He is survived by: his friend Dick Sheumaker; his nephew Ronald Moyer; and his nieces, Karie Beavert, Ronda Madlock and Krista Chapman. He is also survived by many extended family members, friends, former students, and neighbors.
