It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Burton of Leavenworth, Kansas, born in Clayton, Kansas, who passed away on April 28, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent Janie Warr; and his siblings, Glider, Grover (John Bailey Tew), James Foy, Reuben (Johnny Warr), Yvonne Burton Thomason, Janice Marie Tew, Burmazell Tew, Vallie May Champion, Laura Hawkins, Corene Redmond, Ruth Keener and Betty Warr.

He is survived by: his wife Susan McKean Witt; his children, Robyn Smith (Steve) of New Berlin, Wis, Susan Ray (Mike) of Republic, Kathryn "Katie" Miller (Kevin) of Leavenworth, Judd Burton (Xiaoguo) of Vernon Hills, Robert Witt of Aurora and Caroline Boris (Ron) of Bunker Hill, Ill.; his siblings, Emmielee Singleton, Arlene Thompson, Senoia McGreggor (Mike), Shelton Tew, Sallye Ragan, Curtis Scroggins and Sarah Brown (Howard); his grandchildren, Carter, Chloe Smith, Nick Dibben (Melody), Sami Johnson (Nathan), Payton Ray, Jack, Kinsey, Elyse, Ella Miller, Jonah, Samuel Burton, Trinnitty, Tyler, Alexsis Witt, Paul Gifford (Claudia) and Amanda Smith; and his friend Claude Dodson. He is also survived by ten greatgrandchildren; his "adopted" children.

Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery.Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Hope Animal Rescue, 728 Cherokee St., Leavenworth, KS, 66048.
