He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Argil Axford and Lulu Axford; his wife Alvinia; and his children, Christy Allen (David), Andrew Axford (Lisa), Katherine Robello (Doug) and Jonathan Axford (Karen). He was also cherished by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
