We announce the death of Elizabeth Doris Avenia of Leawood, Kansas, who passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 65. Elizabeth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Elizabeth will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Elizabeth will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Elizabeth’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She is survived by: her children, Spencer D. Avenia and Kendall P. Avenia; her siblings, Linda K. Bowden and Benjamin W. Bowden; and her great-nephews, Whitney E. Asbury (Beauregard), Carter R. Asbury and Logan C. Asbury. She is also survived by the other love of her life, animals, at State Line Animal.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Overland Park Arboretum, KC Pet Project, or Kansas City Hospice.
