It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James J. Dempsey of Leawood, Kansas, who passed away on July 8, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dempsey and Alice Dempsey; his wife Eileen Dempsey; his son James Dempsey; and the parents of child, John and Alice Dempsey.

He is survived by: his children, Ann Rhoads (David), Laura Luther and Thomas Dempsey (Nichole); and his grandchildren, Ian, Jason Rhoads, Jack Dempsey and Alyssa Luther.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas.
