It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Eugene Nelson (Leawood, Kansas), who passed away on July 17, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene and Loretta; and his brother Roger Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Mona of Overland Park, KS; his children, Richard Eric Nelson (Regina) of Chatham, NJ, Änna Wilt (Blake) of Leawood, KS, Laura Bolgen (Kurt) of Melrose, MA and Elyse Nelson (Joseph Costa) of New York, NY; his brother David Nelson (Amy) of Vermillion, SD; his grandchildren, Reese, William, Greyson, Elle, Jack, Campbell, Henrik, Nash and Benton; his nephews, Bo and Ryan; and his niece Brooke.
