She is survived by: her siblings, Lynda Reeves (Glen Reeves) of Olathe, Rick Yates (Wanda) of Sacramento and Bryan Yates of Olathe, Kansas.; her nieces and nephews, Brooke Woods (Brett) of Raymore, Shaun Reeves, Kenny Ogden, Brian Ogden, Justin Yates, Mason Yates, Jaiden Cole, Jackson Cole, Grady Jackson, Graysen Jackson, Lexi Govro (Jacob), Amara Reeves and Aryanna Reeves; and her great-niece Lily Govro.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions "In Loving Memory of Debra Jean Yates" may be made to Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter 3901 Martha Truman Road Kansas City, Missouri 64137.
