He was predeceased by : his parents, Edgar Herbert and Nellie Marie Duncan (Hovey); his wife Hazel Duncan; his children, Gary Hand, Sr. and Diane Geib; and his sister Donna Edgin.

He is survived by : his grandchildren, Terri Troncin (Shane), Scott Wyss (Joanne), Gary Hand, Jr. (Tina Westwood) and Julie Barber (Mitch). He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.
