He was predeceased by : his parents, Stella Sopyla and Stanley Sopyla; his former life partner Carol; and his sister Loretta Oros (Al). He is survived by : his wife Gerri; his children, Lora Durst (Steve), Steve Sopyla (Jeannie), Amy Gordon (Paul), Jon VanMeter (Elain) and Patrick VanMeter (Ashley); his grandchildren, Abby (Sam), Natalie, Alex, Annie, Paige, Olivia, Emily, Griffin, Jackson, Nicky and Brian; and his sister Christine Sopyla.
