Janis Elaine Converse Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janis Elaine Converse of Lenexa, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 14, 2026 at the age of 63. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Janis had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Janis may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Glen Ashley and Ashley; and her sister Pamela Ashley. She is survived by: her husband Gary; her son Sam of Lenexa; and her siblings, Mike Ashley (Durinda) of Prairie Village, Linda Ashley of Chanute, KS, Patricia Shillcutt (Chuck) of Salem, OR and Mary Winder (Bill) of Chanute, KS.. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers and because of Janis's love for cats, especially Buster and Leo.
