We are sad to announce that, on January 2, 2026, at the age of 57, Kathryn Ann Askeland of Lenexa, Kansas, born in Kansas City, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Kathryn has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
She was predeceased by: her father D. Dean Askeland. She is survived by: her son Andrew Lasater (Emma); her mother Jan Askeland; her brother Paul Askeland (Chris); her nephew Braden Askeland; her former husband Patrick Lasater; and her friend Dan Art.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to one of Katy's favorite organizations, namely Project 1020 (a local cold weather shelter co-founded by her father), Doctors Without Borders, or your local no-kill animal shelter.
