He was predeceased by: his father Bobby D. Finn; and his mother-in-law Helen Ries. He is survived by: his wife Patti Lynn Ries Penland; his sons, Timothy E. Penland (Lauren) of Shawnee, KS and Andrew R. Penland (Hannah) of Fort Collins, CO; his siblings, Walter C. Finn (Shelly) of Kansas City, MO, Barbara Hahn (Dale) and Suzanne Gough of Kansas City, MO; his sisters-in-law, Paula Greer (Dale) of Lee's Summit, MO and Carol Schellman (Richard); and his grandsons, Luke E. and Owen K. Penland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Finn Family Scholarship Fund in care of Heart of America Council - Boys Scouts of America, 10210 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131-4212.
