It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Trudy G. Vanderweide (Lenexa, Kansas), born in Granite City, Illinois, who passed away on April 11, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Ritter and Lois Ritter; and her husband Phil Vanderweide. She is survived by : her children, Kevin (Michelle), Mark (Sarah) and Jill (Adam); and her grandchildren, Samuel, Gracie, Sophie, Eli, Zachary, Bennett, Brielle and Brennan.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 5:30 PM at the Good Shepherd (12800 W 75th St, Shawnee, KS 66216).

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for family and friends to bring a children's book to the remembrance gathering that will be donated in her honor.

“My deepest sympathy to all of her family. She so loved and cherished each of you. I have been blessed to have been friends with Trudy since the 1960's. I have so many K-State memories! I was only able to see her when I was back in KC. When we were able to get together it was as if no time had passed. That is a good friend. I am so lucky to have had her in my life.
