We announce the death of John Allen Porter of Lenora, Kansas, born in Lebanon, Missouri, who passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 69. John Allen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie J. Porter and Lois Porter (Edwards); his siblings, James Porter, Connie Jones and Jeanie Barker; his parents-in-law, Cecil and Ruth Hash; his siblings-in-law, Kevin Hash, Bill Mollison, Roger Smith, Daniel Hash, Sharon Sorenson and Nancy Mollison; and his great-nephew Kody Jordan.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Porter of Lenora, Kansas; his daughters, Hollie (Shane Timson) and Amy (Gary Farrell); his grandchildren, Thomas Farrell of Colby and Rebecca Farrell of Hill City, Kansas; his siblings, Betty Scott (James) of Columbia, Pauline Smith of Lebanon, Missouri and Daniel Porter of Oregon; and his siblings-in-law, Michael, Donna Hash of DeSoto, Sharlene Jordan of Grandview, Irma, Harold Feller of Camdenton and Ron Sorenson of Albany, Missouri. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, adopted children, grandpups and grandcats.
The family would ask memorials to be for Living Word Fellowship, a church he attended when he was able to, or Hill City Jr./Sr. High School Music and Theater Departments.
