He is survived by: his wife Ellen Porter of Lenora, Kansas; his daughters, Hollie (Shane Timson) and Amy (Gary Farrell); his grandchildren, Thomas Farrell of Colby and Rebecca Farrell of Hill City, Kansas; his siblings, Betty Scott (James) of Columbia, Pauline Smith of Lebanon, Missouri and Daniel Porter of Oregon; and his siblings-in-law, Michael, Donna Hash of DeSoto, Sharlene Jordan of Grandview, Irma, Harold Feller of Camdenton and Ron Sorenson of Albany, Missouri. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, adopted children, grandpups and grandcats.
The family would ask memorials to be for Living Word Fellowship, a church he attended when he was able to, or Hill City Jr./Sr. High School Music and Theater Departments.
