He was predeceased by : his parents, Nels Peter and Marie Marie Daugaard Hansen; his son Dale Hansen Jr.; his siblings, Jens Peter Hansen, Rick Hansen and Annabel Peterson; and his great grandchildren, Emerson, Phillip, Dani and Andi.

He is survived by : his wife Melva Hansen of Scott City; his daughters, Toni (Kenneth Wessel) and Dana (Alvin Howard); his grandchildren, Karrin (Dustin Warta), Kailee Howard of Scott City, Justin (Krista Howard) and Lynell Wessel of Hays; and his great grandchildren, Axl Warta, Layla Warta and Ozzy Warta of Scott City, Kansas..
