He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Haskin Stewart and Edna Mae Stewart (Thompson); and his siblings, J. T. Stewart and Venita Frankhouser. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Stewart of Liberal, Kansas; his children, Monte Kent Stewart (Allison) of Cassville, Missouri and Cheryl Lynn Kucharik (Steve) of Scott City, Kansas; his stepchildren, Shane Abbott (Missy) of Wichita, Travis Abbott (Tammy) of Liberal, Kansas and Amy Mease (Chris) of Wichita, Kansas.; and his grandchildren, Kyle, Ashley Kucharik of Lakeville, Minnesota, Aaron Kucharik of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Krista, Reid Dodson of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Cooper, Leah Stewart of Liberty, Missouri, Gabriel, Kayla Stewart of Leavenworth, Kansas, Tara, Andrew Sheridan of Wichita, Kansas, Austin Mease of Mt. Arlington, Taylor Abbott of Liberal, Kansas, Amanda Sutherland of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tyler Sutherland of Raymore, Missouri. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Miller Mortuary Chapel (908 N Lincoln Ave, Liberal, KS 67901).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made payable to the Liberal Animal Shelter or the Liberal Senior Center in care of Miller Mortuary, P.O. Box 826, Liberal, KS 67905-0826.
