He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack D. Cook and Dorothy E. Cook of Kansas City; and his brother Jack D. Cook II of Independence, Missouri.. He is survived by: his children, Jeremy Cook Putzier (Priscilla) of Ankeny, Mykal VanDoren (Kayla) of Holcomb, Kansas and Sheena of Independence, Missouri; and his siblings, Sandy Rust of Kansas City, Kansas and Jeffrey Cook (Lavonna) of Conway. He is also survived by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many cousins, and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hornung Family Funeral Home (1212 W 2nd St, Liberal, KS 67901). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
