She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Herrs and Laura Herrs (Meyer); her husband Dennis Bokelman; her son James Lynn; her brother Verlin; her sister-in-law Lola Herrs; her brothers, Lavern Herrs and Lowell Herrs; and her siblings-in-law, Jerry Bokelman and LaDonna (Robert Rahe).

She is survived by: her children, Barbara Knox (Ray Dean) and Brent Bokelman (Linn); her grandchildren, Shandi Slater (Jeremy), Shanna Joy and Dustin Knox (Mistie); her great grandchildren, Madison Knox, Maison, Mia Slater, Paige, Clay, Kate Joy, Kiara, Kameron, Hudsyn and Gwyneth Knox; and her sisters-in-law, Linda Herrs, Doris Herrs and Evelyn Bokelman.

A memorial fund is established to the Linn Lutheran School or Wholmoor American Legion.
