He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Libby (Doubrava) and Ferdinand "Fred" Barta; and his sisters, Elrene Stowe, Thelma Sporn and Marianne Gawith.
He is survived by: his children, Carla Shepherd of Hutchinson, Kyle Barta (Lori) of Little River, Ryan Barta (Jamie) of Little River and Emma Shepherd of Hutchinson; his son-in-law John Shepherd; his grandchildren, Christopher Barta, Michael Barta (Tessa) and Megan Kane (Jake); and his great grandchildren, Mackinze, Steele, Elliot, Morgan, Bryleigh, Juli and Zayna.
Memorials may be given to the Congregational Church Men's Fellowship, Little River, in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
