He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Lewis and Ruth Lewis (Dicken); his wife Mary Thirsk; his daughter Marilyn Powell; his granddaughters, Natalie and Tara Bute; and his sister Martha Hazelbush.
He is survived by: his children, Margie Elders (Rob), Dan Lewis, Marcia Thornton, Marilee Thornton, Marie Biesecker (Robert), Martha Cecil and Marlisa Curtis (Sam). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Holy Name Catholic Church (412 E 8th Ave, Winfield, KS 67156). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, donations may be left in the care of the Shelley Family Funeral Home.
