It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alvin Lamonte Turpen of Lyons, Kansas, born in Hutchinson, Kansas, who passed away on June 29, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Caroline Stewart; his brother Thomas Turpen; and his grandson Jaelen Staples. He is survived by: his daughters, Wendi Lea (Robbie) of Sterling, KS, Ashley Staples of Lyons, KS and Cindy Dobbins of Lyons, KS; his grandchildren, Chiton Brinson (Sidney), Keaton Brinson (Will), Captain Morgan Brinson (Casey), Taylor Lea (D. J.), Cory Lea (Lilly), Payten Staples, Anden Staples, Graysen Staples, Raelen Staples and Erik Dobbins (Lanna); his great grandchildren, Skylar Brinson, Blake Brinson, Remi Brinson, Xander Brinson, Isiah Lea and Amira Cole; and his cousins, Debbie Metzger and Herb Unruh (Patty). He is also survived by several nieces; and one nephew.
