With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James R. Porter of Lyons, Kansas, born in Meade, Kansas, who passed away on January 5, 2023 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James R. Porter to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Wallace Porter and Lila Porter (Dykstra); and his brother Jerry Porter. He is survived by : his wife Patricia Porter; his children, Jim Porter (Judy), Cathy LaTourell (Dan), Sterling, Melinda Moore (Alan) and John Ray; and his siblings, Stan Porter, Little River, Richard Porter of Lenora, KS, Leroy Porter of Raymore, MO, Nancy Burroughs of Joplin, MO and Lois Lung of Salina, KS. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Jim Porter Memorial Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St., Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
