It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVera Simms of Lyons, Kansas, who passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of LaVera Simms to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Narron and Helen Narron (Collier); her son-in-law Steven Owens; and her siblings, Wilma Brown, Cletus Narron, Phyllis Turner, Donald Narron, Garry Narron, Dennis Narron and Jimmie Narron.

She is survived by: her husband Bill Simms of Lyons, KS; her children, Brenda Simms of Hutchinson, KS, Sandra Owens of Hutchinson, KS, Bill Sims of Denver, CO and Tracy Koehler of Overland Park, KS; her grandchildren, Brian Owens (Grace), Tarah Bartlett (Tim), Daniel Owens (Jenna), Adam Koehler, Hannah Koehler, Madalyn Koehler, Kimberli Simms, Kiani Simms, Tavion Simms, Nardazia Gallagher (William) and Ziya Simms; and her great grandchildren, Brian Owens II, Teagan Bartlett, Olivia Owens, Bennett Owens, Tatum Bartlett, Hudson Gallagher and Evangeline Gallagher.

Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church or Cornerstone Daycare- Scholarship Fund in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
