He was predeceased by : his parents, Jay M. Engelland and Sylvia M. Engelland; his wife Patricia Ruth "Pat" Swenson; and his siblings, Lurton and Joleen Ottlinger.

He is survived by : his sisters-in-law, Kathryn Wilson (Fred) of Traverse City, MI and Telva Swenson of Kansas City, KS.
