It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen McCarthy of Lyons, Kansas, who passed away on April 27, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Mary farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mary is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. James Moffitt and Ellen L. Moffitt (Yucker); her husband Daniel B. McCarthy Jr.; her brothers, John Moffitt and Dr. James Moffitt; her brother-in-law John Corbisiero; and her sisters, Corinne Kleopfer, Mildred Hicks, Barbara Kendall and Aileene Corbisiero.
She is survived by: her brothers, Frank Moffitt (Jan) of Hillsboro, KS and Tom Moffitt (Rhoda) of Taft, CA; her sister-in-law Glenda Moffitt of Santa Fe, NM; and her niece Judy Hodgson (Ed) of Little River, KS. She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
