With sadness, we share the passing of Dixie R. Greenwood of Madison, Kansas. Dixie, born on December 9, 1933, passed away on August 16, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Linsea and Myrtle White Linsea; her husband Billy Greenwood; her daughter Sandra Thompson; and her siblings, Jack Brassfield, Billy Brassfield and Mary Linsea.
She is survived by: her former husband William Dean Thompson; her brother Dean Brassfield (Rita); her children, Jane Welch of Madison, Calvin Thompson of Gridley and William Thompson, Jr. of Emporia; her stepchildren, Nancy Kile (Gary) of Madison, Laura Greenwood of Emporia, Gwen Hill (Jay) of Florida and William Greenwood (Jackie) of Springfield, Missouri; and her grandson Brandon Welch. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a community of friends.
