He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Gehrt (Culbertson) and Maurice "Buck" Gehrt; his brother-in-law Steve Sanborn; and his mother-in-law Maria Heimstra. He is survived by: his wife Coralee Heimstra Lane; his siblings, Teresa Sanborn, Sherry Gehrt (Joe Horocofsky) and David Gehrt (Brenda); his nieces and nephews, Brian Sanborn, Tee, Payton Gehrt, Stephanie Sanborn and Bobbi Horocofsky; and his pet Jack.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dan's memory to the Deep Creek Schoolhouse .
