He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Dwight, June Hughes, Chuck and Betty Koerner. He is survived by: his parents, Guy Hughes and Patsy Hughes (Koerner); his wife Betsy Oleson; his children, Robert Hughes, Thomas Hughes and Nicole Hughes; his parents-in-law, Ken and Bonnie Oleson; and his sisters-in-law, Amber Melius (Levi), Elizabeth Oleson (John Town) and Dynasty Carnahan (Brandon).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church of Wamego (16655 US-24, Wamego, KS 66547). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Severy Southlawn Cemetery (1558 20th St, Severy, KS 67137).
