He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan John and Gertrude Lola Wassberg. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hoober; his daughters, Jamie Nutt (Wayne) of Grapevine and Janna Wassberg of Denver, Colorado; his grandchildren, Megan Burks (Kevin), Taylor and Connor Nutt; his great grandchildren, Lilian, Kashton and Kayce Burks; his brother John Wassberg; and his nephews, Eric and Tom Wassberg.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Jim to the Sunset Zoological Park and Wildlife Conservation Trust.
